Outstanding conversion story. Bares the soul to honestly state his findings. He is doing God's work by evangelizing those willing to listen. Thank You Steve for all that you do for those looking for yet a little guidance, without feeling vigorously confronted by your storyline.

Good but falls short of Steve Ray's work

I have only listened to this CD once, as I meant to give it to a non-Catholic. I enjoy Steve Ray's wit, and you get plenty of this on the tape. The only objection I have to this CD is that it isn't quite as good as other work from Steve. Yes, he traces his steps to the Catholic Church, but I wanted to hear more scriptural verses justifying Catholic theology for protestant listeners, which I felt was missing. Perhaps I missed something.

The power of a conversion story

A casual friend, Sherry, (our girls are in the same Irish Dance studio) expressed to me that she was looking for a way to help her girls grow in faith during that Lenten Season. She and her family were Baptist. I invited her to a Stations of the Cross, and she accepted the invitation.
Weeks went by after the night of the Stations without a word! And then one day, Sherry mentioned that her girls and she very much appreciated the Stations. I asked her if she would be open to me sharing more about my Catholic Faith, and she said, "Yes"! Immediately, I asked her if she would like to take a drive with me while the girls had their 2 hour dance class. So off we went and I popped in Steve Ray's conversion story. She kept interrupting it to say, "This is how I grew up!" and "Yes! I want to give more in worship!"
Well, I gave her the CD (that's why I had to order another), and she listened to it again, with her girls, three or four more times! She said, "Mr. Ray speaks to me and understands my upbringing!"
Well, her whole family is coming into the Church! Parents are signed up for RCIA and the kids will be in "step up" Sacrament and RE classes.
I could not put into words what Steve did. I grew up Catholic and have no concept of shopping around for churches or of having difficulty with the Eucharist or Mary or Church authority.
Thank you, Steve. Your work is bearing great fruit!

Fantastic! I will be getting several copies of this to pass out to family and friends! Thank you so much for your witness to Christ, Steve. You keep honing your witness talk and it is definitely bearing fruit. You haven't lost any of your enthusiasm and your message is just resonating with me! Steve, I've read "Crossing the Tiber" and your other books and heard your conversion talk many times and I thought that these were all "home runs". Well, I picked up a copy of your latest cd on your conversion talk at the men's "Rekindle the Fire" conference in South Bend last month and I just want to tell you that you knocked this one "OUT OF THE PARK!"
